French
French is a difficult language, and I decided I would use some knowledge I have learned in French class, and teach a bit of it to you.
How to Talk About Other People and Yourself
Learning how to introduce yourself is a pretty useful skill to have in a foreign country. So here are my notes.
- Bonjour - as you might have expected - is how you say hello in French.
- Au Revoir = Goodbye
- To say ‘My name is…’, you would say Je m’appelle Fred
- To tell people your age, you would say J’ai 12 ans. J’ai is ‘I have’ in French. Ususally you would not say I have 12 years, but in France it is different.
- To introduce other people’s names, say ‘Il (boy)/Elle (girl) s’appelle…’
- J’aime is I like, and Je n’aime pas is I don’t like
- To ask other people’s names, say, ‘Como tu t’appelle?’
In the end, I would say:
Bonjour. Je m’appelle Liam. J’ai 12 ans. Comment tu ans? J’aime pizza. Como tu t’appelle?
Can you guess what this says?
